Sweet on Science

February 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A wide rainbow of fluorescent proteins are used by scientists in all kinds of research ranging from imaging neurons to detecting the presence of specific traits in cells. At the start of the workshop, we’ll tell you all about the history of flourescent proteins and the exciting role they play in research. Then we will get hands on and make paintings with them.

This is just like those other BYOB Painting classes where you drink lots of wine while the teacher paints your painting for you. With one slight difference, the paint we will be using will happen to be alive…and you’ll be doing all the painting ;)

-Bonus: Since it’s valentines Day we’ll also be making a bioluminescence necklace!

Tickets are $45 and includes everything you need to create your own living piece of art.
